Useful Information
Single
This is what happens if you are a single person and die INTESTATE ( I.E.
without a will) in Scotland. (This includes anyone who is not married, regardless
of whether they cohabit with their partner or not).
These rules apply for Rights of Succession which most people who fall within
this category do not have a Will... If you have a partner, they receive
NOTHING! - everything goes to:
the deceased's children - if there are no children…..
the deceased's parents- if there are no surviving parents....
any brothers, sisters, or their children - if there are none then...
to grandparents - if there are no surviving grandparents…
if there are no living blood relatives then your estate goes to the Government!
